Expanding an Artists Reach on Spotify

Ben Schuller hired Venture to increase the awareness of his single “Pretending – Acoustic” which was originally released in June 2019. Ben is one of the voices behind the YouTube gaming & entertainment network NerdOut.

Our challenge with Ben has been helping him get exposure to a new, more relevant audience. With “Pretending – Acoustic” as the focus track, we drove traffic to our own This is Ben Schuller playlist where his entire catalog existed. These excess streams drove many songs to activate and re-activate the algorithm.

“Pretending – Acoustic” got a massive boost in listenership through multiple playlisting efforts and direct ads. It now has taken a life of its own and is growing organically through over 13k user generated playlists.

In less than two months, we helped increase Ben’s total listenership on Spotify by 20%, or just over 100,000 new listeners.
